About Keiken Illustrations
Officially, Keiken Illustrations began in 1997. It is owned and operated by, pretty much, just one person. Me. K. Roberts (pictured here ages ago, being slightly grumpy). I started the business after I had been commissioned to do a variety of art projects, including murals and book illustrations. Before I started college, I had already won first place in a national and first place in an international art contest at the age of 17.
Since starting my own business, in addition to creating standard on-canvas or on-paper art, I have completed even more murals, created graphic designs for businesses, had an art show or two, and even painted on cars. I used to do tattoos on people and now I just design tattoos. I've also taught art since 2001.
This website is the latest incarnation of the business. The site began operating in fall of 2002. If you are interested in hiring me for a project, you can find out how much it costs to commission me on the FAQ page or send an email — the contact form is on the bottom of every page.

How to Hire Keiken Illustrations
Hiring me isn't difficult, it starts with initial contact. At the bottom of every page is a contact form, just send me a message.
I'll get back to you as soon as possible, generally within 24 hours. Occasionally it may take multiple days, especially if the initial contact is on a holiday or I am travelling. As a semi-retired person, I am finally working on a healthy work-life balance so am actually taking vacations.
